We ate regular snacks and meals and this seemed to help keep the kids in good spirits. If the prices at the Wild Animal Park were shocking, Disney’s prices were downright scary, but we found most of the food was pretty good and kid friendly. The B family was equipped with lots of treats, too, so everyone was well fed throughout the day. The weather was a little chilly at times – in the low 60’s at the warmest part of the day, but we’d dressed in layers and managed to stay warm even well into the evening. Having a large family definitely forces you to prepare for any eventuality!
Toward the end of the night, Wendy’s husband, her older kids, Jonah, Ethan, Lulu and Zoe and I all finally went on Space Mountain. I had been looking forward to it all day, and it didn’t disappoint! I hadn’t been on it since they changed it, and I absolutely loved every minute of it. I’ve been a huge Red Hot Chili Peppers fan since I was a teenager, so it was a bonus to have “Higher Ground” blaring from the car’s built-in speakers. As Wendy’s husband said, having the music to go along with the ride definitely added another dimension. It was awesome!
After Space Mountain, we found Wendy and Tim’s favorite corn dog stand, figured out whether our character breakfast would be the next morning, and watched a little of the parade. We know the parade is the highlight for many Disney visitors, but we were fine with catching what we could from a distance. I don’t think our kids would have enjoyed being stuck behind a wall of people, and getting there early enough for good seats would have meant we would have missed a good couple of hours of ride time. ;o)
As we were leaving, we got to watch a spectacular fireworks show, and we anxiously talked about what we would do tomorrow. It was a great day!
