11:50 I mill into the kitchen and ponder what we’ll have for lunch. I consider homemade pizza (nixed because I don’t want to take time to make the crust), cheese tortellini (scrapped because I have no salad and no garlic bread – both musts) and finally decide on an old standby: chili, rice and cheese, and strawberries. (Say what you will. It’s one of the few meals everyone likes!) I start the rice and chili on the stove, fold a load of laundry, put the next load in, and set the table.
12:10 We eat.
12:15 Joshua finally decides to join us and complains that he never heard me call him for lunch, despite the fact that I yelled three times and told him over the intercom (which he had turned off) twice. Zoe helps feed the babies.
12:40 The kids help clean up the lunch mess, I clean up the babies and their high chair trays, and then we dig out frozen Drumsticks from the freezer. We don’t normally have big treats after lunch, but the weather is so warm today that it feels appropriate somehow. ;)
1:00 Zoe throws in the last load of laundry and heads upstairs to finish her last class. Joshua goes downstairs to play a video game for his break, with the promise he’ll start up again after the allotted time. Jonah, Ethan and I look at a few YouTube videos of rides at Disney World. Maizie, Sofie, Lulu and the babies go off to play.
1:15 Jonah goes into the living room to practice the piano, and Ethan starts a chapter in one of his readers. I play with the babies and Poppy for a bit, do some cleaning, and check my email.
1:25 I move Ethan into the kitchen so I can use the dining room table to sort laundry. He begins to think about what he’ll write about for the Young Author’s Conference.
1:45 Jonah finishes on the piano and Ethan goes in to take his turn.
1:50 Zoe comes downstairs and announces she’s finished with her DVD classes and wants to take a break. I give her the OK and tell her she needs to start on math when she’s finished, and that she needs to do a minimum of two pages. (She fell behind a bit before our vacation).
